Elections approaching?

A sudden increase in the number of “one face at a time please” type unauthorized political hoardings in and around Whitefield, could that be an indicator that elections are approaching?

Regardless, I really don’t understand why they have to cram so many faces in there! Please, do it one at a time. I am sure your parties and political bosses have enough money for you to not worry about saving money on paper and printer ink cartridges :)

  1. Its just to keep those faces in the same party! Just publicity!

  2. If only there was some way of ensuring accountability after elections.

  3. Did you see how many of such advertisements announcing esoteric schemes and achievements by govt. appear in NewsPapers these days.

The money for this comes straight from Tax Payer’s pockets.

As long as middle class refuses to vote, illiterates are happy to be bribed, and people refuse to stick out their neck to voice their concerns…

rest assured – we shall be governed by buffoons.

  4. Shouldn’t the police be spending time catching the thieves, preventing mobs, finding ways to reduce accidents… but they are busy closing small time pubs. This reflects the state of administration.

Its only going to get worse when promotions actively happens based on your caste, not performance. The legislation is already in place.

  5. Hey… This is due to Deepavali, Wishes for public by “Pollutitions” :-)

  6. Posters/Banners must be banned completely or administration must fine them. Still I’m saying we need Singapore type of “Police” government atleast for 10 years till things become straight. Now in India we have extreme freedom.Shocked to see news “Abu Salem want to contest elections in UP” This is nothing but shame. I’m sure one day he will become MLA. Sorry state of affairs…Anyway I’m waiting for my greencard ;-)

  7. Sandesh – “same party” point is so funny. That very well may be the reason. If they put up a poster with just one face, other “local leaders” may object. By their very definition, socialist parties can’t have single face posters!

Hiren – Accountability is also a function of the pressure you and me apply. How much do we? I know you will revert saying “how can we” :)

Apun Ka Desh – May be when the ‘middle class’ swells to be a sizable vote bank to get vote-seekers attention, things will turn around. The day isn’t that far.

Vijay – Police is obsessed with Pubs, and Times of India with people bearing last name Bidappa.

Shadow – Cool new term there!

NRIHopes – Singapore type policing, definitely yes! Culturally speaking, we are too soft and forgiving. But Abu Salem will lose.
